Algihieri, re:So how many sheriffs or deputies, from how many counties in how many states whose opinion support assault weapons have you sampled, and what % of the total population of police departments does it represent? 30-40 cops from across oregon, washington and california - about 90% say the ban didn't do anything. They also point out the AW (or rifle) is rarely used anyway, it's handguns they usually encounter - which makes sense because you want to conceal the weapon until you're ready to commit the crime.
