How would you prevent multiple gays from entering Troops (to defeat the 2 deep rule)? The same way as you prevent multiple heterosexual pedophiles from doing so. (I assume that by "multiple gays" you meant "multiple gay pedophiles.")

Some heterosexual men can't be trusted around teenage girls, that's true. But it's not fair to say that all men can't be trusted around teenaged girls. But I know this is a hot button issue and don't expect to change your mind. And you are not going to change mine, either. I was brought up to be accepting of homosexuality as something not common, but still normal, and not sinful, because God made them that way. And that's that. You don't like homosexuals, that's your business. But don't use my money to discriminate against them.

Having said that my Troop had a better rule - parent and grandparent only leaders. I am sure the ACLU would find a problem with that as well That's how my cub- and boy-scout troops worked, out of necessity. I grew up with the same group of fathers leading scouts, little league, etc. We didn't have "professional" scout leaders and coaches, but it worked well. It was a close group of fathers, they were mostly all friends and knew each other very well. Not easy pickings for a perv. Derek
