They may still do, but I have definitely visited their factory in Chongqin twice in the past two years. They are doing quite well on this side, exporting to Vietnam, Philippines, etc from China. I do not remember them saying anything about exporting to USA, and so perhaps they just got around to it, not wishing the canibalize US factory work before. Not sure.

I thought one reason for the strong preference for the Honda generators was that they were much, much quieter than the Briggs and Straton type models.

There are emission controls on lawnmower and some other small gasoline engines. These controls do make sense in Los Angeles and some other populated places where the air gets trapped by hills.
