Derek, You guys seem to be talking about some kind of DSL that I have not encountered. My DSL is provided by Verizon, through their telephone lines, and they provide the modem, along with mini-filters to separate the DSL from the phone system so there is no interference. In the 3 years I have had it, I have had no problems even in this part of Florida with heavy rains, and hurricanes. The only times the DSL fails, is when the electric company fails, which also cuts off cable TV, and high speed computer connections. Now Verizon is in the process of installing fiber optics in all the areas of the city, and when completed will give a better lead, and even faster download.
