He really is a lot of fun, but still, it's no longer a respectable field of inquiry. Not because of PC, but because it's silly.

Getting rid of the word doesn't get rid of the differences. That's a "1984" approach.

Anthropologists have been using the concept since the late 19th century.

Last time I checked, it's still the central tool of explanation for the discipline that includes forensic anthropology, ethnography, primatology, and archaeology. You must have been talking to John. :)
