Bush would not have to meet with every mother if he met with Cindy Sheehan. It's all symbolic anyway, for both sides. I don't think America would expect that the Commander in Chief would now take on that duty....but, he is on vacation and could, as you point out, give up one bike ride to establish the symbolic gesture....That is all it would take.

Bad PR for sure in the way he is handling this.

That's only because he is one. He loses no matter what he does with Sheehan. If he meets with her, he'll lose; if he doesn't, he loses.
