Here is what you do, let the really smart folks in say india or china get some education - then hope for or cause political turmoil - help get a mao in there to do another cultural revolution - or hitler to do one - or stalin do one- or whoever you know - have all these smart educated middle to upper class types flee their home country and come here with only the shoes on thier feet and already have a great base to build on. What we are bringing over now is not the same quality of immigrant though it seems. Bortiromo interviewed a guy today that fleed the nazi's - he donated 100 million to NYU - he was already educated upper middle class before he got to this country - we didn't have to spend a lot of time educating him. I think that is what is different about today's immigration compared to past immigrations.
