Similar to the "McCarthyism" charge. If McCarthy had tried to exclude people, not on the basis of ideology, but ethnicity, you'd have a point. McCarthy at least had the decency to attack people for their actual beliefs, not because of their membership in a particular religion or their national origin.

It's going to be a helluva fight. Takes someone more intellectual than me. It's all rolled up into the cultural zeitgeist, but my memory is it changed way to the left in the late 60's, 70's. now we're seeing the counter-reaction in the new Republican majority, but it hasn't attacked the rot and self-loathing at the center of things like multi-culturalism and PC yet. It's gonna take some intellectuals with a new slant on things. I just don't know if I'll live long enough to see it.
