China's actual use of foreign funds drops 3.42 percent in January-July period


China's actual use of foreign funds came to 33.09 billion US dollars in the January-July period this year, down 3.42 percent from the same period of 2004, according to the latest statistics published Monday by the Ministry of Commerce.

During the January-July period, China's contractual foreign funds rose 19.23 percent to 98.64 billion dollars from the same period last year.

A total of 24,652 foreign-funded enterprises were established in China during the same period, a year-on-year drop of 2.02 percent.

Compared with the same period last year, the growth rate in China's actual use of foreign funds and contractual foreign funds, and the number of foreign-funded enterprises established in the first seven months fell 6.14, 20.59, and 15.12 percentage points, respectively.
