Two things to say to your post:

1) You say that we are all the naive ones, yet you also propose that we let Iran have nukes and believe that those nukes won't find their way into terrorist hands.

I am saying you will not stop them from getting the bomb short of nuking them. If you think nuking them is worth it, then go for it.

The Persians are some of the smartest people on the planet. They had to be.......given their location at the crossroads of three continents. I am sure their genetics defaulted to the smart gene. They are turning out doctors, lawyers and scientists at a phenomenal rate. They have numerous natural resources. Their life expectancy is nearly up to ours. They are 70 million strong. Their literacy rate is one of the highest in the ME......85% for men, 75% for women. They are smart enough to know that their women need to be educated and play an active role in their society. That is a huge difference between them and the clerics in Saudi Arabia..........HUGE!

In other words, they are all that the neocons in their idealistic moments wish the Iraqis were.........except they don't have a true democracy in place. Now if you all used your brains for more than the minute it takes to consider dropping bombs, you would realize that as a population gets more educated, more affluent, more professional, it tends to become more democratic and more secular......its people want a say in the future of their country and they don't want to have to go to church/mosque everyday to do it. And they are less likely to be aggressive and throw nukes around. That is very likely to happen in Iran. In fact, if Iran were to go in that very likely direction, it could well be the beacon for the future that the ME so desperately needs.

You don't know Mani, do you? He came from Iran in his teens. He and CJ are the two smartest, most balanced people on the two AMD thread. Mani is the potential of Iran defined. He is Muslim with out being fanatical. He is secular when that's appropriate and religious when that's appropriate. I have to believe there are a lot of Manis waiting to happen in Iran.

Instead, the neocons of this country want to castrate Iran.....and Americans will gladly go along with it because they are simpletons when it comes to foreign affairs, or they are pompous idiots like Elroy.

2) If we end up with a small sect within the U.S. that wants to become a terrorist band, then they will be rounded up and jailed. This country has experienced this type of threat before and we've dealt with it successfully in the past. The key is marginalizing the wackos enough that they don't derail our economy and people going on about their lives in a normal way, and we have been successful at this for over 200 years.

A small band of wackos is one thing. But that's not what we are talking about here. We are talking about 1.3 billion people who are becoming more angry by the moment.

I think you are the one that needs to grow up a little.

I never said for you to grow up. I said to open your eyes. Raise your consciousness.
