I'd very much like a source of data provided by "economic priests" or something similar. (their brand of religion might be problematic) I don't trust the government data, but I use it with my own mental "adjustments". I wonder if the big economic players have their own, proprietary, sources of data?

I wonder if the government runs two sets of books. The "real" numbers for those that need to know, and the "massaged" numbers for public consumption, after being adjusted for political considerations?

Sometimes the paranoid are right!
