To the extent that the UN purports to: (Preamble)...promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom,... ... and to employ international machinery for the promotion of the economic and social advancement of all peoples,... It should support such notions. However, the UN is a broad based political organization, where as, what I am proposing are more specific efforts (consortiums), organized around specific economic and social needs that have a global impact.
