We were all snookered by the Bushies to some degree. At the very least we felt that it might be some kind of halfway necessary revenge for 9-11. That was at first. I first noticed it was wrong right before the invasion when rightwing radio started calling peacemarchers "evil", remembering Jesus Christ was for peace not war and said "blessed are the peace-makers". Tora Bora also bothered me, that cease fire. Why did they call it?

We need to investigate who first thought of the plan, and to what degree part of that plan was to deceive the public and congress, use the war to steal the midterm elections and grab the oilfields. I believe Cheney was at the dead center of it, with a huge Halliburton contract on his mind, and it may have been a wishful plan as early as the mid 90's. But some of those people forgot why Bush Sr. didn't go into Iraq, because is was far too much for us to chew off and swallow. Yes we could defeat Saddam quickly enough, but then what? Now we know. Halliburton wins.
