Where have I said I take Byrne's side as gospel? You guys really like to put words in people's mouths. If you are going to criticize, at least be honest. I liked his performance vs. Jeff the hedgie. I also like the fact that he is here, raising the interest.

I don't see your quote of my post as being inconsistent one bit. Hedgies are there to make very wealthy money managers. Some or most may be honest and play by the rules. Some may not. That's the issue. Wealth production does not preclude honesty. There are some CEO's that take excessive pay from their companies. Yet, they may be honest. The stock may also go up. That doesn't preclude criticism that their pay packages are too high.

<<I posted that there are good hedge funds, honest ones

"[Hedge funds] are there for one purpose and that is to create extremely wealthy money managers." Is that a fair quote?

99% is pretty high for anything. I wouldn't say that 99% of hedge funds are scams or that 99% of MM's are out there just to line their pockets. I believe, in toto, that the hedge funds have mushroomed in wealth and power that many take advantage of the myriad opportunities to manipulate, as that term is defined and interpreted under the SEC acts and regulations thereunder.

So, if we are in agreement that these issues need a fair hearing, will you be writing your Congressman, the SEC and state AG's and asking for full investigations into these issues?
