Newmont USA Limited, a subsidiary of Newmont Mining Corporation (NYSE: NEM) ("Newmont"), is the joint venture partner and manager of the Midway project. At the conclusion of the first phase 2003 drill program, two additional holes were completed in the greater Discovery area to offset mineralization identified in hole MW292. As reported on March 3, 2003, reverse circulation (RC) drill hole MW292 returned a 40 foot interval, from 455 to 495 feet, averaging 2.14 grams per tonne (gpt) gold. This hole was drilled westerly at an angle of 450. The two recent RC drill holes, MW368 and MW 369 were drilled southwest and northwest, respectively, each at a 450 angle. MW368 returned a 20 foot interval, from 420 to 440, averaging 0.677 gpt gold. MW369 returned 60 feet, from 290 to 350 feet, averaging 9.488 gpt gold. These two holes provide valuable geological information on the orientation of the mineralized system within the Enterprise Zone. This zone is located approximately 700 metres south of the Discovery Zone and 250 metres southwest of the 63-77 Zone within an area referred to as the greater Discovery Zone.sedar.com PRESS RELEASE TSX Venture: MDW September 26, 2003 SPRING VALLEY DRILL PROGRAM PROGRESSES Midway Gold Corp. (the “Company”) is pleased to announce that the 12 hole, 10,000 foot reverse circulation drill program on the recently acquired Spring Valley, Nevada property (the “Spring Valley Property”) is currently underway. The first drill hole, SV-20, was collared 125 metres east of hole ESV-2 which intersected 235 feet averaging 2.16 grams per tonne gold.sedar.com TSX Venture: MDW PRESS RELEASE October 21, 2003 MIDWAY INTERSECTS 235 FEET OF 2.7 GPT GOLD AT SPRING VALLEY Midway Gold Corp. is pleased to announce initial results from the reverse circulation drill program under way on the Spring Valley, Nevada property. The first drill hole, SV-20 intersected 25 feet averaging 1.06 grams per tonne (gpt) gold. Hole SV-21, located approximately 520 feet south of ESV-2 and drilled at an angle of 75 degrees towards the north, returned mineralization over large intervals of the hole as shown in the table below. Most significant is a 235 foot interval with a weighted average of 2.72 gpt gold. This represents an oblique intersection of the lower mineralized siltstone horizon where previous operators returned intersections up to 235 feet averaging 2.16 gpt gold.sedar.com December 1, 2003 Symbol: TSX-V:MDW NEWS RELEASE MIDWAY INTERSECTS 70 FEET OF 12 GPT GOLD AND 20 FEET OF 22.6 GPT GOLDsedar.com Venture: MDW January 18, 2005 MIDWAY DISCOVERS NEW GOLD AT SPRING VALLEY PROJECT: Midway Gold Corp. (the “Company”) announced that drilling has encountered a new gold zone hosted in quartz stockwork veins within altered feldspar porphyry intrusive. Preliminary assays from hole SV04-66 identified a zone of 320 feet of 0.030 opt gold (97.5 m of 1.03 g/t gold). The hole was angled at -70 degrees and the interval was from 500 to 820 feet. The hole was abandoned at 820 feet in mineralization, due to drilling complications. Additional testing of this interval using a coarse gold sampling procedure is underway and could potentially identify higher values of gold. Coarse gold is common at the Spring Valley project. This hole lies north of the Pond zone where 40 of 56 holes have intercepted gold values in excess of 10 feet of 0.01 opt gold; the best hole in the Pond zone was SV-30 which encountered 215 feet of 0.137 opt gold (65.4m of 4.69 g/t gold) in a volcanic breccia, tuff, and rhyolite flow. Hole SV04-66 lies 500 feet north of the Pond vent complex and opens up a large potential for the project. “Midway will continue to drill test this target and the recently discovered Wabash zone, which encountered 60 feet of 0.034 opt gold (18.3m of 1.16 g/t gold) in a rhyolite sill, east of the Pond zone,” says Alan Branham, President of Midway Gold, “The Spring Valley project continues to expand as we step out.” Information on the Spring Valley project has recently been updated with a new 43-101 report by Mine Development Associates and is filed on SEDAR.sedar.com
