I'm not sure anybody disagrees that the country would be a better place if everybody that worked a full time job made a decent living wage, and could even save some money. But a lot of rich folks say "not on my dime".

I've said for a long time that the US is a wonderful economic machine that spins off a lot of free cash flow... enough for some at the top to be rich and others at the bottom to live a decent life. Almost everyone contributes. It's a shame when the machine makes lot's of folks obscenely rich and lots of folks obscenely poor. Some balance benefits us all, rich or poor. It makes for a better, safer, more moral society... for everyone, top to bottom.
