re: Please do provide the available cash that an engineer would have compared to a teacher in California. Be sure to include the housing subsidy, public pension, 25% discounts at stores, 20% BMR discounts for housing, health insurance, LTC, summer vacation of a teacher vs over-time of an engineer, and when you get done, please let us know what the cash available is compared to the cash available of your typical engineer in California. Please post numerical information and ask Tenchusatsu for help if you have any questions on the cost of living in California before emotionally attacking him. Btw, school teachers earn $45k in the Bay Area, not $20k.

Do your own research if you want to argue with me, don't ask me to do it for you. I've provided evidence that it is more expensive to live in Florida than California, on a relative basis; you've provided nothing but supposition.

And if you bothered to read my note, you would know that I was talking about Tampa teachers that earn $20K. I'm talking about a very close friend that teaches disabled kids. She can't give it up... even though she could make much more in the private sector; it's too important to her. And us.

John
