Voodoo is charging less to upgrade it's sub 4lb Turion notebook to a 2.2ghz 25w MT-40 than it does to a2ghz 25w MT-37.

$222 vs. $230 - is that just a typo?

And what's Intel going to do with AMD shipping 64-bit parts with good FP performance (FP performance is generally = high power use) vs. Intel's 32-bit limited FP chips, in the same power envelope, at pretty much the same integer IPC and clock speeds?

AMD is really starting to pull ahead. First high end desktops, then workstations and servers, and now they've clearly taken the lead in mobile processors (much to the stunned surprise of Intel, I'm sure).

Having MT (25 watt) general availabiliy (you can buy 'em now at VooDooPC) go from -28 (1.6ghz) to -40 (2.2ghz!) from one day to the next has got to be a body blow to some folks at Intel.

Even I didn't see that one coming.
