AMD is just too busy selling dual core, setting new performance standards while Intel is demonstrating...

While anything can happen, the perception is clear. Intel has the future products and they have the process to make them. AMD needs to show they have an answer. Today's products look good but what about tomorrow's? Photo's of someone's test chip won't cut it. So far all we hear is silence.

Your link basically says there's been a (panicky?) redirection of staff to try to shore up one program by looting staff from another.

It looks like the one that ran into heavy weather was Intel.

Intel has moved about 200 engineers from its Itanium processor lines to the Xeon in an effort to accelerate the development of a 64-bit chip with an integrated controller. This product is due out in the second quarter of 2007, McConnell said.
