But you and I agree completely on the mess in music I think.

Its amazing and ridiculous to point this out, but since that has never stopped me before... I will <gg>

The BEATLES, prior to the rubber soul album, were characterized as nothing more than the level of success the BACK STREET BOYS achieved in the 90s. The difference was that the Beatles 1) made actual money vs. the BSBs winding up as totally broke, 2) the beatles were given CREATIVE CONTROL based on their newfound fame even if it was contrived 3) the beatles ability to negotiate their own deals then translated over to other up and comers like the Stones and etc

I mean for gods sake who in their right mind would spend months in a recording session, create a CD that makes 200mm in sales and wind up with 600K in profits like the Dixie Chicks did? I can make more as an IT consultant when you compare the man hours involved.
