Interesting read but the author flays about missing the major reason FOX is doing so well. It's really quite straightforward.

1. FOX is more balanced in its coverage. What he describes as an "international" view is nothing more than a leftist international view, which looks at America and its motives often in a negative light. People don't enjoy constant negativity. And it's very clear they are out to promote Democrats and denigrate Republicans.

2. FOX has more intelligent discussions of news stories. The women who mainly facilitate those discussions are brighter, and more real. They aren't afraid to self-deprecate on occasion and good naturedly poke fun at their colleagues or tell them great job.

3. In summary, they have a better organizational culture.

Too many people at CNN think they are too smart for their own good. And most of them are pretty dim bulbs when a free-flowing discussion comes their way.

That was, indeed, a good piece, if only if it says what I've been saying right along. <g>

The FOX detractors will point to a Republican administration and say dismissively that it’s just Republicans tuning in to a Republican channel to watch Republican news. There may be a tinge of truth to that

Tinge?

CNN takes on more of an international outlook with what I consider overall to be an unbiased eye. CNN’s detractors sometimes call it an Anti-American channel but I think that’s mostly hogwash. There is a portion of America that follows the “America First” rule of news.

Indeed. The America-first Republicans all watch Fox. The rest of the audience is less engaged and spread over many outlets. The Fox ratings are hardly a mystery. Or a political triumph, unless you consider recognizing and satisfying an engaged niche to be a political triumph rather than smart business.

CNN obviously needs to spend more time in Aruba.

The difference between Fox and Cnn is obvious. Both channels have dim witted talking heads reporting news and giving their opinions. Cnn has obviously far more stupid and or dishonest talking heads.

Intelligent people prefer more honest less stupid talking heads. Americans on average are more intelligent or life wise. The upper percentile of those Americans are Republicans. That would explain why Republicans would be a higher percentage of Fox viewers.

"is also true that FOX has carved out a niche in political matters and other stories that CNN and other mainstream news channels have largely ignored."

It is also true cnn has presented stories in very distorted and dishonest perspectives.
