Actually lots of computer science and engineering students prepared for future jobs in the 1980s-1990s...

But, we have had a massive outsourcing of these jobs here - and corporate cutbacks have meant many highly skilled people are now not able to find jobs in their field.

It's OK though - we have focused our energies on building an oversupply of housing, and invading Iraq.

That will help us greatly over the next 20-30 years as we try to compete with China.

I think the whole education issue is a crock - it's not true at all. Tell it to hundred of thousands of IT workers let go in the last 5 years.
