now my advice to everyone is sell your home if you have one and rent, or don't buy and rent.

Are you following your own advice? Don't you own a rental in the city? And perhaps one in San Mateo? Let me know when they get listed.

Lizzie I think you conversation with Live2Sail highlights the the notion of location and how prices can change greatly just around the corner.
Have you considered exchanging to something closer to work or work central?
