The economy went into recession in the late 90s, before the rest of the country. The Conseco bankruptcy and closing of the RCA plant had a severe toll. But it has really picked up since late 2002. The labor market here has gotten tight within the past 4-5 months, from discussions with my friends who are trying to do hiring. The downtown has become a lively place. Many shops and restauants and new construction there. We have been lucky to have a string of visionary mayors: Dick Lugar, Steven Goldsmith, Bart Peterson. I really enjoy living here - it's laid back, friendly, cheap, and there are many cultural opportunities that didn't exist when I came here 11 years ago.

The snow sucks, though. -g-

OK, lets pass the hat then. We can use the Tucumcari place as the Western regional office of the Thread, and we can use that one as the Midwest regional. Now we just gotta find one in West Virginny.....<G>
