If I were there and couldn't leave town I would head for the Superdome. I would also be sending out buses to collect people and take them there.

I understand that 30% of US refinery capacity is in the area. That should help gas prices!! Think I'll go fill a few jerry cans just in case. Maybe we should try nuking the thing to break up the wind.

The City has set up the Superdome, 25 feet above sea level, as public shelter. It is being equipped and supplied with bedding, food, water, etc. It will soon fill up with those who have no better place to go.

The Mayor talked about the Superdome as the main shelter, but he also said there were at least 10 other sites that would be designated as need be....plus they can take over nearly any place necessary. The hospitals and hotels are free of the evacuation notice, as many flights have been cancelled.
