I can see bleach for the sewage but that wouldn't be much help against the oils and who knows what else is in their water at this point, would it?

But being able to purify stream water in your and my areas is a good skill and supply to have.

Fortunately I have your book. Unfortunately, I haven't implemented your recommendations yet.

It's a good thing we don't have hurricanes up here, but I bet we have a good enough reason to get ready for one anyway. Something will come along.

I keep those supplies at home...replacing the bleach every year.

You don't keep bleach around for your tidy whities? ;^)

My family makes fun of me for having enough canned food, bottled water, and batteries for two weeks -- every Thanksgiving I give the food to the food bank and stock up again.

The pantry is jammed full of stuff, too, but that's not the "stash." I also have two cases of candles, and so forth.

But food, water and personal hygiene supplies for a year! Or even 90 days! Wow. They'd think I flipped my lid.
