Bush will have to open the reserves now. If he doesn't he's just plain evil. Katrina will stop our oil flow for at least a week, maybe even a month. One of those oil platforms got washed up on a Mississippi beach.

What I'd really like to see done though is to bring back windfall profits taxes for oil companies overly profiting off the gouging and other oil-delivery problems. Of course I'd be shocked if Bush-Cheney would ever agree to that. Their energy bill was full of generous tax breaks for big oil and big coal.

Karen- there is a refining bottleneck. They are at full capacity and most are aware of this. If Bush releases any oil it will only be another spin to help his ratings.
