Asbestos, yes, and lead paint, surely one reason for the problems that the poor people have in New Orleans.

I started commenting on the poverty and the illiteracy when this whole thing started because I feared that these people at the bottom of the ladder, instead of pulling together, would devolve into anarchy.

You can really see the differences in the social strata -- the better types are heroically trying to save lives. You can also see that it's not a racial thing. While most of the anarchic ones are black, many, if not most, of the heroic ones are, too.

The ones who grew up in chaos are just living the way they've always lived, only without social restraints imposed upon them.
