Jagfan, 25,000-plus people?! BY BUS CONVOY??!! TO HOUSTON??!! ARE THEY NUTS???!!!

Okay, for openers, how do the buses get through all that water which now surrounds the Superdome? How many buses would be needed for that number of people, where do they all come from, and were do they get the fuel? And what about all the people still stranded at hotels and residences and businesses throughout the neighborhoods that are no more? There are a ton of other negative logistics to preclude this plan of action. It doesn't take a mental giant to see them.

I will say that if the buses are able to get through the flooding and if they are able to somehow be fueled, then take these people to the airport and evacuate them en masse on nice 500-plus seat airplanes, or even Amtrak is such is available nearby.

I have no hard and fast resolution to this dreadfulness, except to say that I do know that trying to bus 25,000-plus people out of a flooded area is one of the most ludicrous things I have ever heard, and I am truly terrified that any so-called professional or elected official would suggest such lunacy. - Holly
