deflation was the 2003 worry, and even then it was a remote chance, you are two years too late <g>

how are we going to see deflation with strong employment, decent wage growth, a still-strong economy even with the oil/gas shocks, and hundreds of billions of dollars going into the economy via the new highway bill and the immense hurricane recovery?

the cost of doing business will go up as long as oil prices stay high, though fortunately energy is only about 4% of corporate costs, so it won't hurt that much, but if anything that will still be slightly inflationary, can't see any case for deflation at this point
