Icebrg....some areas are already at $3 or very close to it.
This coming weekend is a big end of summer holiday for
the US....gas prices always rise going into any holiday, only
this time there are other issues. What % of your gas price
is actually taxes? What would you be paying for gas without
taxes? I guess that is one of the problems with socialist
economies. The government mandates high taxes and citizens
have no alternative but to pay ransom.

Yup! I've brought gas in England. Close to $7.00 a gallon. Kind of hard for an American to get used to, but we'll have to start getting used to it more in coming years. It's actually very good public policy to keep gas taxes high. It reduces pollution and congestion and forces people to conserve. You don't see too many SUVs in Europe even today.
