I don't see things quite the same way. I think that any mortgage company that loans money on property that is in a flood plain is failing in it's fiduciary responsibility to it's shareholders and basically committing an act of violence against those whom they loan the money.

Any federal program that guarantees loans for homes in flood plains without requiring flood insurance, is stealing money from the tax payers.

An insurance agency that doesn't urge their clients to buy flood insurance when they insure a home in a flood play is failing in their responsibilities and conning you out of your insurance fees. Insurers should refuse to write a policy if their clients in flood plains will not add the flood insurance.

I live in a volcanic region. When I asked my insurance agent for coverage in case of an event, he had to call the home office to figure out what was available. That is shameful.

in many cases I would agree....this city and the area is VERY POOR....VERY POOR.....we need to bail them out.....

I live in an "A" flood zone... You "must" have flood insurance to get a mortgage here it is required...
