"How does this timeline make you feel...."

I admit, I hadn't been paying attention. So I was totally blindsided by this. I had a strong dislike for FEMA for a long time. The idea was fine, there just isn't any way to deal with somethings on a local level. But it was staffed with political appointees who didn't have the slightest clue as to what to do. In the wake of Andrew, they totally transformed it. It became a real asset in dealing with disasters. Now...

I don't know. Finding out that FEMA actually had a plan to deal with New Orleans was the absolute last straw. Realizing that the tragedy and horror that is unfolding in New Orleans right now was avoidable is, is, words fail me. I just don't know. This is just evil.

To watch Scott McClellan stand up there and weasel on the questions was revolting. To hear them claim that no one knew that this could happen and they didn't have experience in dealing with this is just so unfathomably stupid. What the fuck are they thinking? They did have people who knew this could happen and had experience with dealing with disasters. But they fired them. And replaced them with hacks. And morons.

There isn't a deep enough pit in Hell for these bastards.
