Landrieu? She's a clown too, daddy was Mayor of New Orleans, major nepotism case. As if to make the case that "those who can't do, go into politics", her brother is now the Lieutenant Governor. Admittedly the local and state government needed an enema at all levels, but was all this really necessary, God?

To be honest there IS a hell of a lot of blame that can be tossed around at both parties for their conduct leading up to and following this mess. The Louisiana delegation in Congress didn't press the flood preparedness issues nearly hard enough, and the New Orleans city government has been catastrophically ineffective (when not incorrigibly corrupt). I'm just P*SSSSED OFF at them all (and I don't even live their anymore, I can just imagine how the locals feel!)<NFG>

oh yeah did you hear her talk about how her relative the Lieutenant Governor is actually digging out bodies as if that was some sort of heroic gesture on his part! What a crock, this is a national emergency and what the heck is the lieutenant governor doing anyway?
