Let's get something straight. I call it like I see. George Bush had the opportunity to get this right - a huge opportunity. Every person in the U.S. knew for days BEFORE it happened that a major hurricane was going to pounce on New Orleans. Every SMART individual in government knows that New Orleans is below sea level. Every person in the state of Louisiana knows that if a levee goes the city of New Orleans is a major disaster zone. Any SMART individual, or one with smart advisors, would have had vast supplies stationed within 100 miles of New Orleans ready for an emergency. That's what FEMA is for. And nothing was done - nothing was ready. And apologists like you find that acceptable. How incredibly offensive! GEORGE BUSH HAD AMPLE OPPORTUNITY TO GET IT RIGHT. HE DIDN'T. HE SHOULD HAVE. DEATH AND DISEASE IS, IN PART, HIS FAULT. If he had gotten it right I would be here congratulating him for a job well done. He didn't. He blew it. I'm mad about it and my government is failing my neighbors. I am offended. DO YOU THINK FOR A SECOND THAT THE MAYOR OF NEW ORLEANS IS FURIOUS WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT FOR POLITICAL REASONS???????????? Open you damned eyes and see the truth!
