My guess is there will be pockets of insurrgents that will refuse to leave resulting in a Mad Max and the Thunderdome finale.

Wonder if it has occurred to Compass and to all the other "ahhhh, let's just get along with the criminals" folks that is precisely THEY who have contributed to the lawlessness of the criminals. When did the criminals have to be responsible for their actions and pay the penalty for their behavior? Though the city's crime rate is ten times the national average, U.S. news outlets downplayed the connection between New Orleans' outsized criminal element and delays in rescue efforts.

This was just the nightmare situation. You had an incompetent Governor and incompetent Mayor who fell apart under pressure. They were so incompetent that it seems as though they didn't even request and specify the Federal Aid they needed. This problem was possibly compounded because the Governor is a woman and the Mayor is black (o.k. creole) - if the Feds took over too soon, the complaint would have been that the Feds (Republicans) thought that a woman or a black man couldn't handle a position of authority during an emergency. That being said, people should all have at least 3 days of emergency food and water for every member of their household. And if you are forced to move out of your house, you take your water and food with you (actually I believe the FEMA website recommends a week). FEMA didn't even know about the thousands at the Convention Center - clearly FEMA now needs to have a deputy director do nothing but watch network news during a disaster.
