Not only is the wealth concentrated in a few hands, so is the political power. Huey P. Long, who is revered by some in Louisiana to this day, tried to change that, but got shot first. Yes, I realize that The Kingfish had many negative characteristics(over and above being crooked. But, as a politician that pretty much is a given), but I think he genuinely cared for his people.
