"Heartless disconnected bastard." It's ass covering time. Have you heard that Bush wants Louisiana to turn control over to the Feds? While I am less than impressed with the way the state has prepared and responded, the Feds have been even worse. The suspicion is that they want control because things are starting to improve and if they gain control now, they can effectively push the blame totally on the locals and take credit for "saving" them. Besides, it would make it easier to muzzle the media who seem to be somewhat upset over the way things have been handled.
