>>> More importantly, where is the urgency?

It is in New Orleans, Slidell, Bay St. Louis, Gulfport, and Biloxi..

"More importantly, where is the urgency? Isn't that what's been lacking through this whole thing?"

That is part of it. The other part is bizarre behavior. Cutting emergency phone lines, not ordering the Bataan to render aid, although it was sent there for that reason. Um, turning those trucks of water that Walmart donated back as 'un-needed'. telling the Coast Guard to not give Jefferson parish the diesel fuel. Stopping food and water distribution for 3 hours while Bush did his photo op. Taking from Sunday to Thursday to pass the governor's acceptance of those Arizona National Guard units to Arizona so they could come.

Hell, we were dropping food and water at Banda Aceh within two days. A couple of days after that, we had people on the ground. And suddenly the Gulf Coast is more inaccessable than that?

The mayor and the governor both requested Federal assistance in a timely manner. But the calvary didn't come. Don't get me wrong - they deserve a LOT of blame. The chimp deserves a LOT of blame too.

The Governor declared a disaster and asked for help Aug. 28th:

Here's what the chimp was doing Tuesday, Aug. 30th, and what New Orleans looked like Tuesday:

Very Nero-like!
