Taro, But those are all kind of intellectual achievements and I doubt that could project to understanding being an African American in the current USA without being one yourself. There is a wide range of lifestyles and opinions among blacks. While the welfare lifestyle and thinking may constitute nearly a majority, there are others, who's thinking is not all that different from people you met in many places around the world that you traveled.
