exactly. Thats what we saw here in SF. We are an earthquake prone area obviously. But all I saw on the news was a bunch of money going for hugely expensive pork projects like bomb detecting submarines (in case somebody puts a bomb under the GG bridge or something). It just flies in the face of common sense some of this homeland security pork spending BS. As far as I know NO homeland security money out here went for boring things like retrofitting freeways and buildings for "the big one".
