Why should the federal government pay one dollar for NO levee work? Shouldn't that be for NO and the state of LA? Why should Alaska and Hawaii pay for it?

Was this the same funds that was later squandered away by the levee board, only to have to get a loan to replace it, then denied because they were not solvent?

Why should the Federal Government give one dime to such an irresponsible bunch?

Irrespective of your inability to quantify the cuts, the budget of the levee project had NOTHING to do with the catastrophe in NO. There were three levees that broke, two of which had already been "fixed" by those budget dollars, the other of which was destroyed by a flying barge.
