I've been in TN, Northeast. But people are mostly disgusted. And stunned. This area is taking in a lot of people. I'll find out about Alabama when I get back there tomorrow. I know my mother is disgusted with the incompetence and people dying because of it. To me... it was expected with the gutting of FEMA and the assault on the Redcross. People here are mostly poor or getting by. They relate regardless of color to losing everything, and how just one paycheck makes all the difference. I hope some people from NO will find new homes they love here in TN and Alabama. I've moved the body of a sheep after a few days in the hot summer southern sun. It ain't pleasant. I can't imagine the sight and all... there. I hope some are brave enough to keep bringing the pictures.
