I don't know anything about Blanco, so I can't respond to that part of your post. I have said since this crisis began that there is plenty of blame go go around. I would not want to live in Louisiana because the social problems there depress me. My family is from the area, however. I look at the general tone of essays, and don't really enjoy bigotry and sweeping generalizations, and I was picking those up in the one you posted. By the time the pinks and grays came, I could not really absorb any more. Why didn't Bush go out in a boat, or jump into the toxic gumbo and try to rescue someone (anyone, a pet perhaps)? It is easy to make fun of Sean Penn, but Bush's purported good deeds are always photo ops, and I'm sure Sean Penn was acting out of the goodness of his heart. He certainly doesn't need any more fame, and in fact doesn't like that part of being an actor. He lives quietly with his family in a northern California town where no one else is famous at all.
