Even when we wait, we GET treatment. That is why we have one of the highest life expectancies in the world (acid rain aside).
D**N! Gee, I bet I could never guess who the acid rain gets blames on, could I?

Oh. Americans get treatment too. Money just gets it faster.

Also, we all know fairly inexpensive and simple public health measures (pure running water, insect vector control, clean air, diet education, ...) can do more for longevity than all the doctors in the world. In many ways, the medical system is irrelevant compared to matters like these. Nothing like a good malaria epidemic to screw up your health statistics. Or dysentery from contaminated food or ....

(Think that's quaint and cute? The county I live in is starting anti-mosquito "fogging" because of a number of cases of avian flu. A few decades back, they did aerial spraying with Malathion through much of the state to kill Mediterranean fruit flies. There were cries of "terror in the night" (the spraying was done at night to minimize human contact with the insecticide) by a good many liberals. I wonder if those liberals ever thought about what effect the lack of fresh fruits (destroyed by fruit flies) would have on public health.)

Ever think about the good those fresh vegetables from the south do in your long winters?

This is not about winning a debate.
The heqq it isn't. We all know better than that.
