"A few decades back, they did aerial spraying with Malathion through much of the state to kill Mediterranean fruit flies. There were cries of "terror in the night" (the spraying was done at night to minimize human contact with the insecticide) by a good many liberals" We spray with Malathion every year. You probably remember when Rachel Carson came out with "Silent Spring" (in the mid sixties, I think). It got me concerned with environmentalism. However, I take a broader view these days. I think they should DDT Africa and destroy the damn malaria. "Ever think about the good those fresh vegetables from the south do in your long winters?" It doesn't matter to me where they come from. The U.S. and Canada are close enough that it is not about countries; it is about cities. "I bet I could never guess who the acid rain gets blames on, could I?" You could research it and report back, I guess! :-)
