"<<I have an idea, and it isn't a horse show.>>"

and I didn't call Bush an idiot - you did that.

You did not use those words but the sentiments were clearly evident in the letter you posted. In fact the insinuation was not only that Bush was an idiot, but also anyone who voted for him, blaming them for the effects of a cat5 hurricane. The piece you posted by Micheal Moore was a shallow but classic attempt at political manipulation by playing on peoples emotions. It amounts to nothing more than opportunistic, political profiteering and people don't like feeling used and manipulated for crass political ends. There is going to be a backlash against anyone who is seen to be doing this just as surely as there will be one against anyone who uses the storm to jack up the price of oil, or batteries, or anything else.

The things you listed are certainly points to consider and debate but Moore just wants to score cheap debating points that preach well to the choir but will, in all likelihood, ultimately backfire.

With bodies still laying in the streets, this is not the time to take political advantage of your opponents, it's the time to roll up your sleeves and help.
