I actually think a civil war is exactly what is needed. It is time for the Kurds and Shiites to wipe the Sunnis out and pave the way for their own democracy. I agree, we have to get our troops out before that happens. Friedman wrote about this. He said that our troops are really holding back the floodgates on a civil war. When we leave, it will break through the floodgates.

You are probably right. I definitely think our troops are interfering in the process. However, I also think the Kurds and Shia are very afraid of the Sunnis. Think about.......the Sunnis are a minority in terms of both the Kurds and the Shia, and yet, I bet the Sunnis have always been the warrior class in the area and there is a tradition of them subduing the Kurds and Shia. Psychology can play a major role in all of this. The Shia will have to get over their fears if they intend on subduing the Sunnis.
