Did the government pick up the tab for national health insurance under the Clinton administration?

No.

Guess not. I would rather kill Serbian civilians with very expensive, often inaccurate bombs. Welcome to the Clinton administration!!!

The government could pick up the tab for national health insurance for all of us, too, if it wanted to..

Certainly, if Congress passes legislation nationalizing the part of the health care system which is not already government financed. However, back in 1993-1994, the Clinton administration attempted to get such legislation passed when both the House and Senate were in Democratic hands. They failed. I think that's an indication "national health care" just isn't going to happen in the US. Why complain about a Republican President and Congress not doing something a Democratic President and Congress were unable to do?

I don't think nationalized health care would be the great boon its supporters think. It would mean government rationed health care and waiting lines for treatment - which you see in countries like Canada and Britain.
