Solon, sorry to disappoint you but Brown didn't shoot down the Red Baron. It was proven to be an Australian machine gunner on the ground. Not to detract from Canadian piloting skills, I love the Snowbirds. If you really want to see something check out the Italian team!

No, indeed I was so concerned I pointed it out to one of the pilots who said it was nothing to be concerned about.

Have you seen the movie "Legends of the Fall" or read the book of the same name? There is a segment there where the boys from Montana ride up to Calgary to enlist in the Canadian Army for WW1. I thought it was very moving.

How did the Canadians rack up so many kills? By super aggressive flying?

You know in WW1 we didn't even HAVE our own planes
Nor did the US. We flew British and French birds.

BTW, you never DID get into the question of the lengths of time the 2 countries were engaged in WW1. Seems to me Canada was in at least 3 times as long as the US and had a lot longer at better times to make those super-aces.
